Since 1 January 2002, payment has been made in Austria with euros (= 100 euro-cents).
Austria is one of those member states of the European Union that took part in the European Currency Reform, and replaced its old currency (the Schilling) with the euro. There are banknotes with the values of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euros, coins with the vales of 1 and 2 euros, and 1, 2, 5, 10, and 50 cents. |
