Movie highlights and TV hits have been produced in the film city of Bavaria for over 80 years. Go on one of the exciting tours through the enormous studios after your German course! You will see the film locations of many well known TV films and famous movie classics and also experience a stunt show and a 4D movie. Films such as Enemy Mine (Geliebter Feind), Das Boot, The Neverending Story (Die Unendliche Geschichte) and the major success (T)Raumschiff Surprise – Periode 1 plus many more were all produced in the Bavaria Film studio in Munich. Hollywood movies and other more uncommon films are on offer at the cinemas in Munich. Mondays and Tuesday are the most popular days for the movies as the tickets are cheaper on these days. The Munich “MaxX” Movie Theater comprises of seven modern movie auditoriums. And so there is also a huge offer of movies to see. The program is mostly made up of blockbusters.

 Cadillac:

The “Cadillac-Cinema” is a real insider’s tip in Munich! There is a glittering red Cadillac right there in the middle of the foyer. This cozy movie theatre attaches great importance to its decoration and also offers an imaginative accompanying program which is designed according to the current films. Wait to be surprised after your German course!

 Museum Lichtspiele:

The “Museum Lichtspiele” is a valued cultural attraction in Munich! The cinema even holds a record: The “Rocky Horror Picture Show” has been on its program for the last 27 years! Another attraction is that the small cozy movie auditoriums show both current films and movie classics in their original language versions.

 Mathäser:

The „Mathäser Filmpalast“ – one of the most modern cinemas in Munich - was in actual fact once a beer hall. It was reopened in 2003 after several years of renovation. Today an enormous multiplex of a theater with 14 movie auditoriums, several bars and a lounge awaits visitors. The program is made up of blockbusters – one to two films per week are shown in the original language version. A special offer: order your tickets via the internet after your German course!

 Theatiner:

The Munich „Theatiner“ Cinema has one of the most formidable programs on offer. Cinema fans even argue that the “Theatiner” Cinema offers the “best movie program” in all Munich. The cinema operators attach great importance to offering a good international movie program. The main focus is on French films but of course English and other foreign films are also shown here.

 Cinema:

The Munich „Cinema“ is simply the cult cinema of Munich for the English speaking population of Munich. The cinema shows almost only original language versions. On Friday nights there is a sneak preview, on Saturday’s often double features and on Sundays the matinees. Special attractions: there are always film events where fans can dress up in “Star Wars” or “Lord of the Rings” costumes. The fans’ favorite movies are shown the whole night long. So if you find you have learnt enough German then perhaps this would be a welcome change for you in Munich.
