Mi primer día de mi curso A 1.2 estuvo genial. Es interesante ver nuevos colegas y ver su nivel en los estudios. Ya que esto te hace sentir bien para poder continuar y decir que también puedes llegar a este nivel como ellos.

Conocer nuevos colegas es muy bien en un país como este donde no conoces muchas personas. Intercambiar culturas y poder aprender un nuevo idioma, para pode comunicarte con ellos y otras nuevas personas. Como en las tiendas, super mercados, puntos de ventas y muchos otros lugares del país.

Estoy muy entusiasmado de vivir cada día una nueva experiencia mas en esta escuela, para poder  ver al final mis resultados con este nuevo idioma.

Der erste Tag

Hallo zusammen!

Am 4. Dezember hat mein Deutschkurs an der DeutschAkademie begonnen, und ich bin so begeistert!

Vor dem Anfang der ersten Unterrichtstunde habe ich mir ein bisschen darüber gesorgt, wie es gewesen wäre: wie wäre der Lehrer gewesen? Und meine Mitschüler? Und am wichtigsten: hätte ich verstehen und mich genau ausdrücken können? So viele Fragen… Aber sobald der Kurs angefangen hat, wurden alle meine Zweifel zerstreut, und ich war davon überzeugt, dass ich eine tolle Wahl getroffen habe, als ich mich dafür entschieden habe, hier zu kommen, um mein Deutsch zu verbessern!

Seit dem allerersten Moment war der Lehrer sehr freundlich und immer bereit, uns zu erklären, was wir nicht verstanden haben. Er hat uns gebeten, über uns, unsere Leben und Träume zu sprechen, um anzufangen, einander kennenzulernen.

Ich habe 11 Mitschüler, und sie kommen aus vielen verschiedenen europäischen (geografisch sprechend) Ländern: aus Serbien, Bosnien, Kroatien, Bulgarien, Russland, der Ukraine, Schottland, Slowenien. Offensichtlich, selbst wenn wir alle aus demselben Festland kommen, haben wir verschiedenen Bräuche und Traditionen, und ich denke, dass es wirklich interessant und bereichernd ist, die Chance zu haben, um unsere Kulturen und Denkarten zu vergleichen. Und unsere täglichen Unterrichte geben uns immer den Anlass, über unsere persönlichen Erfahrungen und Ansichten zu diskutieren.

Also, mein Anfang hier war super. Wunderbare Leute und eine intellektuell anregende Umgebung: ich hätte mir nicht mehr wünschen können!

Unser Brainstorming über das Thema „Heimat“

Grüß Gott!

Hallo!

Mein Name ist Margherita, und ich bin 23 Jahre alt. Ich bin eine Universitätsstudentin in Italien, und seit diesem Wintersemester bin ich in Wien als eine Austauschstudentin mit dem Erasmus+ Projekt.

Warum habe ich entschieden, um nach Wien zu kommen? Weil ich immer von dieser Stadt, von ihrer Kunst, Kultur, Geschichte,… fasziniert war. Ich bin hier nie vorher gewesen, deshalb, als ich meinen Erasmus-Bestimmungsort wählen musste, war ich wirklich glücklich, die Chance zu haben, hier endlich zu kommen!

Es sind fast zwei Monate her, seit ich nach Wien umgezogen bin. Wenn ich mit Unterrichten oder dem Lernen nicht beschäftigt bin, freut es mich, Museen und Kunstgalerien zu besuchen, oder in ein Café zu gehen, um typische österreichische Delikatessen zu kosten (die Kuchen sind sooo lecker!).

Im Dezember werde ich meinen Deutschkurs an der DeutschAkademie anfangen, und ich freue mich darauf wirklich, weil ich mich danach sehne, mein Deutsch zu verbessern und auch viele Leute kennenzulernen!

Weinachtsmarkt am Hof

Yesterday I finally got to experiment going to an Austrian Weinachtsmarkt with some friends. We chose to go to the one am Hof, because we heard there are more traditional and handmade items there.

And indeed, every stand had neatly crafted items, such as Christmas decorations for the house, for the tree or all sorts of gift ideas for your friends and loved ones. I particularly liked the homemade jewelry stand (I am really into them in general) and this stand that sold handmade stars, which light up.

It was a nice, cold but memorable evening. We had some Glühwein to heat up, and enjoyed some caramelized almonds, with rum flavor on the streets of Vienna.

Come December I have enrolled in a Conversation class here at Deutschakademie and I am going to take a little break from writing on the blog, since the holidays are coming and all. But hopefully I’ll return in January with impressions from the C1 class.

Final recommendations, closing ceremonials and celebrations

As I mentioned in the last blog post, yesterday was the final day of class. We completed the B2.2 class and, as usual, at the end we received documentation of attendance, as well as some useful tips, for learning German from now on.

Our teacher recommended a comprehensive Grammar book, called Lehr-und Übungsbuch der deutschen Grammatik, from Hueber, written by Dreyer & Schmitt. I got a chance to flip through it and it talks about every part of speech and how it is used in the German language. Very useful if you like your information all structured and easy to find.

Afterwards we took a picture together, to commemorate the occasion and went out to celebrate to Bier & Biereli, a very quaint beer-oriented bar, just 50 meters away from the Deutsch Akademie. Here we toasted, exchanged stories and found ways to keep in touch in a very cool setting, with hundreds and hundreds of beer cans on the walls, as well as the “Bier ist gesund” motto by the bar. A very fun and likeable group that I hope I’ll run into in future Deutsch Akademie classes.

Cards game – reiteration of B2.2

In the last day of class our teacher prepared a game for us, in which we each had to write on 5 cards what we consider important from what we learned, or what useful is. Afterwards, we grouped ourselves in groups with at least 3 people, and we mixed all the cards together.

We then extracted the cards, one by one, and did a small iteration of what we learned. Of course, some things repeated themselves, but the themes were also diverse and it enabled us to really remember this past month.

Oh, and did I also tell you that we had a little surprise when we came into class today? We had chocolate lined up, waiting to reward us. Such a nice detail, I think we all enjoyed it.

Decision making – Entscheidungen treffen

This week in class we had a theme about decisions and decision making. There was a text that talked about the process of taking a decision, and afterwards we talked amongst ourselves, in able to dig deeper into the matter.

We split into three groups, which received each a poster and we had to brainstorm ideas, or write down compelling arguments from the text.

There was a lot of talk about gut feeling, and how it is important to follow it, especially when it comes to big decisions. Also, list making came into question, as a way to write down all the important information so you have the big picture in front of you. When you are unsure, you should of course consult others, experts, friends, people who have had similar choices, but what it comes down to in the end is what is best for you, because decision making can differ so greatly from one person to the other.

Votivkirche – history and beauty

As we were walking towards the last Stammtisch, on the Ringstraße, I saw this majestic building on the horizon and asked the others what it was. Votivkirche, they replied, as I lingered behind to examine the impressive building further.

When I got home, I looked more up about this interesting looking church, and it turns out its history is even more intriguing. The church was inaugurated by the Emperor Franz Joseph ’s brother Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian, as a way to thank God for sparing the Emperor’s life, after a failed attempt on his life.

Construction of the church began in 1856, and it was dedicated twenty-six years later on April 24, 1879, the occasion of the silver jubilee of the royal couple. It was one of the first buildings on the Ringstraße at that time, constructed in a neo-Gothic style. It is said, from afar, tourists often mistake the Votivkirche with the Stephansdom, but in reality the two buildings are more than 700 years apart in apparition, Stephansdom being established in 1147.

Mis colegas del curso

Mi nuevos colegas del curso son muy motivados también para prender alemán en DeutschAkademie. Para ellos también es nuevo, interesante compartir y aprender una nueva lengua con otras personas de diferentes edades y culturas.

Ellos son de diferentes países como Argentina, EEUU, Filipina y otras diversos países. Ellos están aqui estudiando por diversas razones. Como aprender nuevas lenguas, visitar amigos y poder conversar con ellos en su propio idioma, otros están visitando familiares, algunos quiere aprender la lengua para en el futuro poder vivir aqui, o un otro país donde se hable alemán.

Mi primer día

Hola soy Diego y  vivo en CUBA y quiero decir como fue mi primer día en DeutschAkademeie. Es muy divertido escuchar tantas diversas lenguas en mismo lugar y poder conversar con todas estas personas que apenas conoces y en el transcurso del tiempo en la escuela serán tus colegas y nuevos amigos. Hoy conocí a 11 personas muy interesante y divertidas, que apenas conozco y dentro de poco tiempo podré entender y comunicarme con ellos gracias a DeutschAkademeie. Es interesante poder estar con personas de diferentes edades y países como Filipina, EEUU, Argentina, Croatia, Rusia, Bulgaria y por su puesto yo de CUBA y la profesora de Alemania. Hoy ya pude aprender mis primeras palabras y poder hablar con mis nuevos colegas. Aprendí como saludar, como presentarme, como decir de que país vengo, a decir mi nombre y saludar. Ya con esta primera clase y la buena explicación de la profesora, puedo hablar con nuevas personas.

MUCHAS GRACIAS DeutschAkademie por permirtir que pueda estudiar y aprender este idioma con ustedes y los profesores muchísima gracias por su enseñanza.

Porque quiero aprender alemán

Me decidí aprender alemán, porque es una de las primeras lenguas habladas mundialmente. Y me es útil para poder comunicarme con otras personas y amigos de diferetes países. Es una lengua que me gusta, porque puedes pronunciar las palabras como mismo se escriben y esta es una ventaja para mi, porque no estoy acostumbrado apreder de aprender lenguas, pero si aprender lo que puedo leer y decirlo como mismo se escriben. Me entusiama mucho porque es la primera lengua que estudio de otro país.

Quise apreder en DeutschAkademeie porque es económico y la diversidad de estar con otras personas de otros países que no hablan la misma lengua que yo y que los profesores te explican en el mismo idioma que aprendes y no en tu lengua materna bola de otros que no entiedes. Creo que los profesores de esta escuela tienen una muy buena preparación educativa para poder enseñar esta lengua.  Las instalaciones y ambiente de la escuela son estupendos.
