Born to be the best teacher ever!

Teacher of foreign languages is one of the most interesting and cognitive professions all over the world. Its representatives should not only speak fluently but also know a lot of things. In our case, the teacher of German language should know the culture and traditions of Germany and Austria. Besides, a good teacher should pass on his knowledge to students and instill in them the love for the language.

Sometimes, there is a situation when you cannot discover your talent for learning a language. In this case, you need an excellent teacher to help you. Thank God, this is the very teacher I met in DeutschAkademie! I encourage all the teachers to take an example from her. Her name is Anita. She is a rather young and attractive girl. To my mind, Anita knows German perfectly. She is dedicated to what she does and cares about her students. Moreover, she enjoys teaching us! Every lesson we find out something interesting and new. Anita develops in us the desire to know German better. She is very mature, patient and wise. That is why when she meets a lot of challenges and hardships in her work, she does not give up.

To sum it up, I would like to say that Anita is the teacher by vocation! I always look forward to the next German class. Anita is the best German teacher I have ever had. That is why I will always appreciate her work.

Frühling in Wien

Was rauschet, was rieselt, was rinnet so schnell?
Was blitzt in der Sonne? Was schimmert so hell?

Was knospet, was keimet, was duftet so lind?
Was grünet so fröhlich? Was flüstert im Wind?

Was klingelt, was klaget, was flötet so klar?
Was jauchzet, was jubelt so wunderbar?

Desire to develop!

The first day is already over, and the only thing I can say is that it was very impressive. To tell the truth, I was expecting something good, but not THE BEST! Our teacher, Anita, made everything so that we can feel ourselves confidently. I liked that no one judged us for made mistakes. Furthermore, we were told to make as many mistakes as we wanted to. Can you guess what this pushed us towards? We were trying not to do any mistakes, and this definitely helped!

One more thing that I liked was the atmosphere in our intercultural group. My classmates are from Iran, Hungary, Romania, Russia, China, Spain, Serbia, and Ukraine. All of my new friends can easily communicate with each other without significant misunderstandings. From one hand – we are all different, but from another hand – we are the same. And the main thing that unites us is the desire to learn and improve German. Let’s develop ourselves together!

10 reasons why you should choose DeutschAkademie to learn German!

Hello everyone! Today I want to tell why I have chosen DeutschAkademie. And this post may be really useful for those who are deciding where to study. Let’s start!

  • TEACHERS. In my opinion the most important thing about studying is your teacher. If the teacher is boring, sluggish and too serious – the lesson won’t be interesting and productive (I really know that because most teachers in my Ukrainian University were like that). Talking about DeutschAkademie, all teachers here are young, positive, artistic and they really love their job. You can feel it during the lesson and it makes the lesson super useful and productive!
  • CLASSROOM. The building where you study is also very important. All classrooms here are modern, light, well equipped and clean. All furniture is new and looks nice.

  • BOOKS. I really like the book which we use. Because it is modern and well-structured. All information is up-to-date and all the words are really used in everyday life. Which means that you can use you knowledge in your real life.

  • TIMETABLE. Timetable in DeutschAkademie is very comfortable and flexible. They propose different variants of time of class. So each person can decide when she or he wants to attend classes.
  • LOCATION. DeutschAkademie is situated in the heart of Vienna. That’s very comfortable to get here. And one more advantage is that you can go for a walk in the city center after your class. You can do homework in Museums Quartier, go shopping in Maria Hilfer Straße or drink coffee near Rathaus.
  • VIEW FROM THE WINDOW. You should come here and you’ll understand what I’m talking about! Opera view is brilliant and it inspires so much!

  • CULTURAL DIVERSITY. In DeutschAkademie you can finds friends from all over the world. And learn other cultures and traditions. You can even find your compatriots here! And it’ll help you to feel more comfortable in Vienna. And new good friend is always a nice idea.
  • TEAMBUILDING. Yesterday the administrator came to our class and told about the meeting which DeutschAkademie organizes once a month for students and teachers. Each student can come to their party and have fun there. There you can drink something, eat tasty food, chat and just relax after hard week.
  • PRICE. They have the best price in Vienna. And the quality is much more higher than price. So here you will be sure that you pay money for very nice service.
  • BLOGGING. If your little dream is to become a blogger you have such opportunity in DeutschAkademie. And it is really cool. You should write 16 articles and than you can get money in cash or get discount on your next course. I’ve never heard about such option in other language schools. So it also makes DeutschAkademie unique and attractive!

And why do you like DeutschAkademie? Comment below!

Mein erster Schritt

Was lernt man zuerst?

Du fühlst kein Stress und in Ruhe kannst alles fragen, was dich interessiert. Die helfen dir, empfehlen dir, was du besser machen kannst und finden  das – was dich interessiert.

Best German classes in Vienna!

Hello everybody! I am Stanislava, a 26-year-old girl from Ukraine. My profession is Marketing Specialist, but now I am on maternity leave.

My family and I live in Vienna. We have been here for almost 1,5 years. Vienna is my love for life. I can say with certainty that Vienna is the city that makes me feel like a fish in water. The only thing that did bother me was insufficient knowledge of German language. Of course, I cannot say that I understood nothing. Still, my university knowledge helped me a lot in everyday life. What knowledge do I mean? I studied Interpreting (English and German languages) but as I chose another career, my German is not so good. And as luck would have it, all people around me speak only Ukrainian, Russian or English. So, how could I improve my German language?

I decided to wait till my baby grows a bit to be able to go to a kindergarten so that I can attend courses. But what classes should I choose? Google offers a lot of variants, but how can I know what is the best for me? Once, we (my family and I) visited our friend. That was the first time we heard about DeutschAkademie. A friend of ours was so impressed with the classes, so my husband and I decided to go to see what DeutschAkademie offers. The first feeling was very good. The consultants were so friendly and ready-to-help that we were completely sure what to choose. DeutschAkademie fitted all our requirements and needs.

All in all, my husband has already started to visit classes, and I am planning to start in April. What am I waiting for from the DeutschAkademie? I would be glad to have a highly qualified professional who can become not only a teacher but also a mentor and a friend.

See you in April, DeutschAkademie!

Mein erster Blick

Hallo zusammen!

Warum in Österreich?  Warum Wien?

Mariia.

First day at Deutsch Akademie!

Hello everyone!

Finally that day came! Today I had my first german lesson at Deutsch Akademie and I must say that it was totally perfect from the very beginning!

I met all my groupmates today and I must admit that the nationality’s diversity is so great. In our group there are people from all over the world: Ukraine, Hungary, Turkey, Croacia, France, Spain! And that’s really great because you can find friends from all over the world and also learn other cultures and traditions.

Of course we met our teacher today. The teacher is really great! His name is Daniel and he teaches very nice. I was worried if I would understand everything during the class (I just started A 1.2 level). And fortunately I understood 90% of Information because our teacher explained everything step by step and used different methods of teaching! During the lesson we were playing games, reading, learning new words and grammar. And we comunicated with each other a lot, which I really like because we can practice our German. The lesson was full of fun, positive energy and it was really useful.

The book which we use to learn German is called “Menschen” and it is one of the best books I’ve ever used to learn languages. There you can find grammar excercises, vocabulary excercises. And all parts of book are well organized for those who want to learn fast and step by step.

Even after first lesson I feel that I’ve learnt so much! And now I’m at home and making my homework and I feel so inspired and want to learn more and more!

What I also like in DeutschAkademie is the view from the window. Someone can say that it’s not important, but believe me: when you can admire Opera view during the lesson -you feel really inspired and happy!

I wish all people to study in such place!

Last day of class – Certificate!

The first intensive course from DeutschAkademie (link) is officially complete. The three week course for A1.1 has been a very interesting adventure.  The class is structured extremely well.  Due to the extensive cultural and linguistic make up of the class, the only language spoken during the course is German. Our class had students from Peru, Portugal, Brazil, Armenia, Czech Republic, United States of America, and Slovakia.  We hear our teacher, Ulrike Strigl, address us only in German, even if we partially understand what she is saying. We were constantly exposed to German language and more importantly German pronunciation. Every day for 3+ hours we would hear non stop German language. After only a few days, you knew words in German just due to hearing them on a regular basis.

The overall pace of the class was rather large. After each lesson it is recommended to go over the material and do a little bit of own self study. We had regular homework throughout each class session. The homework helped solidify each class and build on the foundation of the previous lessons. The most difficult aspect of the class was the overwhelming amount of vocabulary that we would be exposed to on a daily basis.  At times it seemed that we were bombarded with new words on a minute basis.  As most of us are very new to the language, our initial vocabulary is quite small. With each day it seemed that the vocabulary of words was multiplying exponentially. As the lessons went on, the vocabulary became less and less overwhelming. Once you have a good foundation of words, each lessons becomes easier to process. Nevertheless, students should be aware of the initial wave of new words and not be discouraged.

At the end of each week, we had a comprehensive exam. The following class, we went over the exam and any potential questions, all in German of course. Overall my personal impression of the pace and the type of the course was very positive. Our teacher was very engaging and facilitated a lot of dialog and practice of the fundamentals. Through this dialog the group interaction drew people closer together. The students were much more engaging with each other towards the end of the course than in the beginning. Thus, we started documenting our interactions together during and after class.

It is now official, we are done. We have received our certifications of course completion, Kursbestätigung. A lot of the group is continuing onto the next A1.2 class, which is a great sign for DeutchAkademie’s retention rate. Most of the students wanted to continue with our current teacher, Ulrike, – a great reflection on her teaching style. Unfortunately, Frau Strigl is teaching a different time slot for A1.2.

Last day, last chance to take some photos together, which of course everyone took advantage of. A lot of selfies were taken once our last class ended. My personal take on the structure of the class is very positive. Before taking this class, I was not sure how I would perform in an intensive class environment. I was pleasantly surprised how well the class structure worked on language retention. I can’t wait until my next course starts, A1.2! I hope my positive experience continues. I highly recommend for anyone who is on the fence about an intensive course to give it a try. You, too, might be pleasantly surprised.
