What motivates me to learn German?

Basically motive consist of a set of a different reasons. For me I think this reasons are: Firstly, I am a bit of ashamed, because I live in a German speaking country for almost 2 and a half years-and I am still not able to speak German. Secondly, I want to stay in here, and of course this is not possible without German. Thirdly, in my opinion if you speak only two languages-you won’t surprise anyone, in my opinion almost everyone nowadays speaks at least two languages. I think that if you want to be some kind of special you have to know as many languages as possible. Finally, new language gives you more opportunities-to experience new countries, new literature, new culture and a whole new world.I think that if you are reading this post, you either already taking German Course or you start thinking about that. I like the way I have started to learn German. I like my teacher Julia, she charming and very interactive. I think that I have recovered a lot of my German for the past two weeks, thanks to Julia. We play a lot of games, some people might think that it is a bit childish, but I think that you learn the best out of games, because when learning becoming fun, you even do not notice how you are started to speak a new language.

Why do I take a German course?

There are obviously several reasons for that.A new language opens up a whole new world. A foreign language gives us access to another culture, and our lives take on a new dimension. The great German poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once said: „Whoever is not acquainted with foreign languages knows nothing of his own.“I can say that learning a new language is like having a journey to another planet. New language increases your diversity, gives you opportunities to meet new people, to live in another country and to get a better job.But of course the main reason why I took a German course is because I want to stay in Austria. Why? Because I like being here, I have many friends here, good job opportunities etc.I think that it is really difficult to study language without taking any course. That is why I am taking course in Deutsch Akademie. I heard many good things about these courses from my friends and colleagues, and so far I am not disappointed at all, on the other hand this course exceeds my expectations. The advantages of Deutsch Akademie is pretty obvious: good location (10 minutes from my workplace), small groups (in my opinion it is an crucial aspect concerning language courses), high skilled and INTERACTING J teachers, very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Finally, there is a quote, which states that how many languages you know this many times you are a person. I want to wish everyone: be as many times person as you can!!!x_8a76b5dd1.jpg

Me and Vienna

I’ve been living in Vienna for already 2.5 years. I can assume that I know this city pretty well, but actually you never know that intresting there is in the city, that you have not visit yet.

Vienna seems to me relatively small, because the city I was born in is much bigger, but Vienna has a very big advantage comparing to Saint-Petersburg: here, everyone can find something to do.If you like clubs, here are plenty of them. I can advise some good clubs such as: U4, Flex, Phoenix and VolksGarten. If you like museums, Albertina is the first place to visit. If you like music, Vienna offers you a great variety of music genres to listen to. Personally, I would advise to all rock fans to visit „Tunnel“ and „Chelsea“. Also, many famous rock bands are frequently visit Vienna: in November I have been to „Placebo“ in StadtHalle (all major artists are performing there) the next goal of mine is „Bloodhound Gang“ in Gasometer club.Another point I like about Vienna is that there are plenty of different Restaurants, pubs and bars. In Vienna, you can be sure that you will spend your evening with friends in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, and ofcousre for decent price as well :)My favorite place in Vienna is Donau Beach, especially in summer, last summer I spent my Birthday there. You can rent a boat, or jump on a trampoline. Here is a photo from my BD:

First days in Deutsch Akademie

Hi again.I had already two lessons in Deutsch Akademie and I can say that it was GREAT :)We have done a lot of grammar and vocabulary, we played different games as well, which made our lesson very interactive and interesting. I like our teacher Julia as well-she is smiley and interactive, and of course she is a good teacher.I feel that I will recover my German soon, because the way Julia is teaching encourage you to interact with people, and communicating in German is the goal for me.I like our group very much, there are many different nationalities in our group, there are people from: Japan, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Australia, Taiwan, Serbia and Russia. Majority of people from the group seem to be older then me, but I am kind of used to this-because in my college I am also one of the youngest 🙂
