You can take a telc exam in Vienna on the following dates. The exams take place at our language school at Opernring 1 - near the Vienna State Opera House.

DeutschAkademie is a telc examination center
By passing a telc exam, you can prove your language skills - for school, training, university, work or naturalization in Germany. DeutschAkademie at Vienna is a licensed telc examination center. This means that you can take German language courses and exam preparation courses for all levels with us. And immediately afterwards, you can take the corresponding telc exam at our location in familiar surroundings and receive your telc certificate.

The DeutschAkademie conducts examinations on behalf of telc gGmbH. It has no influence on the processes during the examination, as it adheres exactly to the specifications. The examinations are checked directly by telc gGmbH and the results are made available to the DeutschAkademie. The DeutschAkademie therefore has no influence on when it receives the results or if there are delays. However, we will always keep you informed about the status.

Before the telc exam
How can I prepare for the telc exam?
The DeutschAkademie offers special exam preparation courses. These prepare you for the exam. You will familiarise yourself with the exam format and receive useful strategies and tips on how best to complete the various types of tasks. However, this is no guarantee that you will pass the exam. You can find the various preparation courses here:
Can I repeat the exam if I have not passed it?
Yes, exams can be repeated as often as you like.
How do I register for the exam?
You can register for your exam via our webshop.
Until when can I register for an exam?
You can register for up to 16 calendar days if there are still places available. Places are very limited as the exam is taken in small groups.

You can cancel or postpone your exam free of charge with a notice period of 4 weeks before the exam date. After that, cancellation or postponement is no longer possible. If you register within the last 30 days before the exam, no free cancellation is possible. After that, the full examination fee will be charged.
A refund of the examination fee is then no longer possible.
The exams at the DeutschAkademie are designed so that you take both parts of the exam on the same day. It is important that you keep the entire day free, as you may have a break between the written and oral exams.
This is currently not possible at the DeutschAkademie. You can only book and take both exams on the same day.
Results cannot be recognized partially or in conjuntion with other test results.
About the telc exam and the exam day
What time does my exam take place?
You will receive an e-mail 3 days before your exam date informing you what time your exam will take place. If you do not receive an e-mail, please contact us.
What do I need to bring with me on the day of the exam?
In order to be admitted to the exam, you must present your official photo ID. If you forget this, we will not be able to admit you to the test.
Drinks are only permitted in transparent bottles without a label.
Personal hygiene items such as paper handkerchiefs are also permitted.
Jackets, bags, mobile phones, wristwatches and other items may not be taken into the room and must be handed in before the start of the examination.
What am I not allowed to take to the exam?

What is the procedure on the day of the exam?
3 days before your exam, you will receive an email with all the information about your exam day. It is important that you arrive on time. If you arrive late, we will not be able to admit you to the exam.
Please report to the office first, where your official photo ID will be checked. You will also be informed in which room your examination will take place.
You must now hand in your personal belongings at the cloakroom.
After the written exam, we will let you know when your oral exam will take place. You will either have time to take a break and leave the premises, or you can go straight to the waiting room.
From there, you will then go to the preparation room where you will prepare for the oral examination.
We will then take you to the examination room.
Once you have finished, you can return to the cloakroom and collect your personal belongings.

As the exam day is organised as smoothly as possible for all participants, it is not possible to make individual adjustments. Please keep the entire examination day free so that there are no scheduling conflicts.
If you arrive late, we will not be able to admit you to the examination.
You will be excluded from the examination and will not be allowed to continue. You will therefore not receive a certificate.
After the telc exam
How long do I have to wait for my result?
The DeutschAkademie is the examination centre that conducts the examination. However, the examination itself is corrected by telc gGmbH, so DeutschAkademie is dependent on when it receives the results. Normally it takes 6 weeks. However, delays are possible.
How do I get my certificate?
You will receive an e-mail from us when we have the exam results from telc. It is best if you come by during our opening hours and collect your certificate on site. Please bring a photo ID with you.
Alternatively, we can send the certificate by post. We do not do this automatically, so please inform us by e-mail if you are unable to visit us in person. Please note that it may take a different amount of time to send the certificate by post depending on the destination - a few days within Germany and possibly up to a week abroad.
What happens if I do not pass the exam?
You can take the exam again, but you will have to pay the exam fees again.
