If you have already taken an exam with exactly the same format and only passed part of it, you have the option of retaking the part you failed (“partial credit”).
For a partial credit, your last result must not be older than 12 months (date of certificate issuance). You must submit your results sheet to us after registering and bring the original with you to the exam.

How do I best prepare for the exam?
The DeutschAkademie offers you two special telc exam preparation courses. You will learn about the exam format and receive useful strategies and tips on how best to complete the different types of tasks. However, this is no guarantee that you will pass the exam. The courses differ in the intensity of the preparation and the amount of work you have to do.

Can I repeat the exam if I have not passed it?
Yes, exams can be repeated as often as you like.
How do I register for the exam?
You can register for your exam via our webshop.
Until when can I register for an exam?
Can I postpone or cancel my exam?
You can cancel or postpone your exam free of charge with a notice period of 4 weeks before the exam date. After that, cancellation or postponement is no longer possible. If you register within the last 30 days before the exam, no free cancellation is possible. After that, the full examination fee will be charged.
What time does my exam take place?
You will receive an e-mail 3 days before your exam date informing you what time your exam will take place. If you do not receive an e-mail, please contact us.
What do I need to bring with me on the day of the exam?
In order to be admitted to the exam, you must present your official photo ID. If you forget this, we will not be able to admit you to the test.
Drinks are only permitted in transparent bottles without a label.
Personal hygiene items such as paper handkerchiefs are also permitted.
Jackets, bags, mobile phones, wristwatches and other items may not be taken into the room and must be handed in before the start of the examination.
What is the procedure on the day of the exam?
3 days before your exam, you will receive an email with all the information about your exam day. It is important that you arrive on time. If you arrive late, we will not be able to admit you to the exam.
Please report to the office first, where your official photo ID will be checked. You will also be informed in which room your examination will take place.
You must leave your personal belongings at the cloakroom, where you can collect them again after the exam.
How do I get my certificate?
You will receive an email from us when we have received the exam results from telc. It is best to come by during our opening hours and pick up your original certificate on site. Please bring photo ID with you.
Alternatively, we can send the original certificate by mail or scan it and send it by email. We do not do this automatically, so please let us know by email if you are unable to come in person. Please note that delivery by mail can take different amounts of time depending on the destination, and we may charge a postage fee—a few days within Germany, up to a week abroad.
