7. Accommodation:

7.1. What types of accommodation are available?

At any time of year we can offer you accommodation with host families or in student flats (share-households of Austrian students). In summer there is also the possibility of living in a student residence.

7.2. Is breakfast included in accommodation?

Accommodation with a host family always includes breakfast, but also offer the possibility, for an extra fee, of booking half-board (+ midday or evening meal).
In share-households as well as in a student residence, you are left to your own devices. You have to do your own shopping and feed yourself, but in that way also enjoy a lot of freedom.

7.3. What else is included with the accommodation?

All our accommodation with host families is with breakfast, half-board available for an extra charge.
You can do your washing and possibly also prepare small dishes for yourself in the kitchen.

7.4. Will I have my own room?

Some host families also offer double rooms. That means that in this case you share the room with another student of our school of the same sex. If you would like, however, we can also book a single room for you.

7.5. Who will share the room with me?

In every case a person who speaks a different native language than do you and with whom you can speak German. Also, this person will be of the same sex as you.

7.6. What sort of families offers accommodation?

Most of our families offer accommodation not because they need the money, but because they enjoy having guests in the house. We place great importance on the selection of our host families and visit them all personally before we send our first student to them. After all, it’s very important to us that you enjoy your stay in Vienna.
The composition of the host families is like real life: Some are families w2qith children, others couples who live together and have no children yet. Or they are student share-households. Some also live alone and look forward to a bit of company.

7.7. What about if I follow a special diet or have allergies?

In this case too, we do our best to find accommodation which takes account of your habits. But please remember that your host family can’t turn all its living habits upside down for you.

7.8. How far is the accommodation from the language school?

Our accommodation is at most 30 minutes by public transport from the language school. Some are right in the centre of town, others a bit further out.

7.9. What happens if I don’t get on with the host family?

In this case we will try to find alternative accommodation for you. However, we can’t promise you that we will always be successful, as our accommodation is in many cases booked long in advance.

7.10. What should I bring with me?

Bed linen will be provided by the host family or the student share-household. However, you must bring your own towels.
If you live in a student residence, you will sometimes have to bring everything with you, even cooking cutlery and utensils. Please ask us! But on the other hand you also have the possibility of cooking for yourself and can make independent decisions.
