Back to school Day

Yesterday was the first day of the B2.1 class. Back to School, yay! I just love that commotion, the hustle & bustle on the corridor as people are trying to get situated and find the way to their new classes, the new curious faces everywhere. I just love the smell of new books, and I admit it was fun for me to go shopping for writing supplies – such as post-its, highlight markers, new notebooks – this past weekend, it felt just like the beginning of school back when I was a pupil.

I was glad to hear that my writings so far have been well received and that I’m going to continue reporting on my DeutschAkademie experience and life in Vienna this month too. At the same time, in the B2.1 course it seems like the level is rising a bit. We did some get-to-know-each-other games, which were fun and interactive, and I got a chance to talk a bit with almost everyone in the class.

There are some people from the old class, but also some new ones, from countries such as Russia, Iran, Poland, Slovakia which is good because is another opportunity to learn about other cultures of the world. I just loved how, with the old group, we were beginning to know each other, and went out to celebrate the end of the class. We were seven people sitting at the table, from seven completely different countries, where else can you find that? Pretty cool, right? Stay tuned if you agree.
