schmähstadl – Die Comedy Mixed Show

Every Friday night and Saturday night in comedy club Spektakel 2.0 in Wien you have a mixed comedy show called „schmähstadl“ with four German and Austrian comedians and a moderator. I had never heard of this before, but the ticket price is a „pay-as-you-like“ price and you pay after the show is finished. This concept is as follows; if you like the show a lot you pay 15 Euros, if you liked it 10 Euros, if you did not like it so much 5 Euros, and if you did not like it at all you are also allowed to pay nothing. I do not think that many people will choose the last option, because the show is really great.

Because the show is in German and I am still learning German I did not understand everything, but enough to have a very good time and lots of laughs. It is a very interactive show and I even participated in the show and earned a free drink. Some of the comedians use someone from the audience in their performances and my boyfriend was so lovely to make sure I was chosen… I was a bit nervous because of my German, but I could understand enough and played along with the comedian. When the comedian asked me which language I spoke and I answered „niederländisch“, the whole audience had to laugh, because the comedian did not know what to answer to that…

Make sure that you reserve a seat, because the show is very well-attended. You can do this through the website of the comedy club itself.
