I wish someone had told me this before started to learn german!! PT.1

As everyone in the Deutsch Akademy or in any other german academy we want to improve our german skills but some time we don’t know how and when we discover how we never shared. So I’m not the best german speaker or someone that have improved really quickly I’m actually just en A2.2 but i have discovered some things that have helped me and continue helping me alot! and I’m sure it will help you to understand more and speak better.

1.Think in german. Try to think in german as much as you can, and if you are just starting, well just repeat and repeat the few sentences and words that you already know and try to found new expression with them. Imagine situations and scenarios, create characters in your head and try to do it while you speak not just in your head that way your mouth will be able to articulate the words easier and will be less painful when you have actually speak with another human being. And as you advance try to make more complex sentences and deepest conversations with yourself.

2. Observe people. When people speak they are always doing unconscious gestures with his face and it actually helps them to generate the accent and produce the right pronunciation, so detail the expressions that the native german speaking people make when they said certain word and try to imitate it. you don’t believe me? look at yourself in a mirror and try to imitate accents in your own language and you will notice how the expressions of your face change  as you change the between accents. Actually his how mother teach her babies how to talk, exaggerating the gestures and hoping the baby repeat them.

3. Try to create images in your head. All the words that you know have representation in your head, when you say dog your head is imaging ( picturing ) a dog in your head, try to do the same when you are learning new words, instead of think dog = hund and repeating and repeating until you memorize it, just associate the word hund with the image that is already in your head. Think the language as a way to get to the concepts, you already know the concepts!! just create a new way to get to them.
